Two ancient bronze figurines from India.
An elephant, 11 cm high, 23 x 6 cm
and a horse, 15 cm high, 26 x 4 cm.
Made with the dhokra technique, a traditional tribal metalworking technique from India; the process by which objects of brass, bronze and bronze are cast using the lost-wax method. This traditional art form is widespread in various Indian states, with a substantial concentration of it in Bastar, Chhattisgarh.
