- Inscriptions: REPUBLICA PORTUGUESA / 1916 / 20 CENTAVOS.
- Grading: MS61 (NGC).
Obverse with the bust of the Portuguese Republic looking to the left, wearing a Phrygian cap adorned with laurel leaves and ears of corn. Perimeter legend: REPUBLICA PORTUGUESA. Date 1916 at the bottom. Reverse with the Coat of Arms of Portugal centered on an armillary sphere, surrounded by two laurel branches joined by a ribbon. At the bottom, the legend 20 CENTAVOS. Coin minted in the context of the Portuguese First Republic, a period characterized by political instability and major economic changes. Despite that, this piece reflects a classic design and strong national symbolism. This coin is encapsulated by NGC with grade MS61, which guarantees its excellent state of preservation.
