Murano glass flower with a silk stem – length 40 cm

This flower is entirely handmade in Murano using the traditional lamp-working technique. The master glassmaker uses a colored glass rod, brought to the softening temperature by the flame of a gas-powered torch. The glass, once malleable, is shaped and wrapped around a thin metal support, allowing the desired form to be obtained.
The lamp-working technique enables the creation of extremely detailed subjects, such as flowers, animals and small decorative elements.
In the case of the flowers, once the blossom and leaves are completed, the piece is hand-inserted onto a silk-covered stem reinforced with a metal wire, so that it can be used for arrangements, decorations and displays.
