Description from the seller
The Herringbone Berber rug has a strong, unique, and for a classic Berber rug rather untypical design. In particular, the classic herringbone pattern makes this Berber rug a one-of-a-kind and very distinctive piece. The strong presence of the design is further reinforced by the irregular coloration.
The Herringbone Berber rug also originates from the Atlas Mountains of Morocco and is a typical Beni Ourain Berber rug. The manufacturing process of our Berber rugs takes place in a traditional and 100% natural way. Beginning with the procurement of the raw material, through the dyeing of the yarn, to the final knotting.
Due to manual production, washing the wool leaves a natural fat layer on the fibers, which makes the rug so to speak self-cleaning. As is typical for most Berber carpets, this Beni Ourain also has only single-sided fringes and a narrow kilim band on the long sides.
As with all of our rugs, we also recommend an anti-slip mat for this Berber rug, but at the same time we would like to point out another quality feature of our Berber rugs. A high-quality Berber rug always has a certain intrinsic weight and thus conforms to the floor. The feel of the texture is also crucial for the quality of a Berber. The classic Berber rug must be fluffy, grip-friendly, and at the same time soft as a sheepskin.
