Description from the seller

INVADER - 'I invade Djerba'

1 stamp sheet by Invader.

Stamp sheet in perfect condition.

Only one stamp sheet will be sent.

The French artist, returning to Tunisia, participated, in collaboration with the Itinerrance gallery, in a project to invade the island of Djerba in 2019. In 2021, it is through postage stamps that he reappears in the Djerba landscape.

During the District Art Fair auctions in September 2022, the 12-stamp sheet Invader sold for €650.

The stamps will be perfectly protected with protective cardboard envelopes.

After dispatch, a tracking number will be provided.

Invader is part of the contemporary urban art scene alongside artists such as KAWS, Banksy, D*Face, PEZ, Richard Orlinski, Shepard Fairey (Obey), Sandra Chevrier or Mr Brainwash. Like them, he subverts popular visual codes and mass culture to transform them into an identifiable artistic language. Whereas Banksy emphasizes political messaging and Shepard Fairey propagandist iconography, Invader develops a pixelated aesthetic inspired by the Space Invaders video game. Like KAWS or Mr Brainwash, he blurs the boundaries between art, market, and pop culture, while maintaining a systematic and almost mathematical approach to urban space.
