Figural mantel clock - Honoré Pons - Bronze - 1850-1900 - Napoleon clock

Magnificent Empire-era mantel clock (early 19th century) in patinated bronze and gilt bronze.

Subject: High-quality sculpture depicting Emperor Napoleon I on a rearing horse in full charge (classic iconography of the Napoleonic legend).

Technical details:

Mechanism: Original movement signed Pons (Honoré Pons, renowned watchmaker, gold medal in 1827). Serial number 891 stamped on the plate.

Stamp: Presence of the "A C D" mark on the bronze.

Materials: Base in dark patinated bronze, decorations (laurel wreaths, friezes) and bezel in gilt bronze.

Dial: Center engraved in barleycorn pattern with Roman numerals.

Accessories: Sold with its original key and its striking/chime stamp.

Condition:
Good overall condition for its age. The patina is original and has not been altered. The movement is complete (a routine service is advised for optimal operation as the oil has dried over time).
