Napoleon III Era Glove Box in Rosewood and Mother-of-Pearl

Elegant rectangular glove box in rosewood veneer (or rosewood) opening with a hinged lid. Refined craftsmanship from the Napoleon III period (mid-19th century).

Decoration and Inlay:
• The lid features a rich inlay of flowers in white mother-of-pearl and foliate scrolls.
• In the center, a cartouche of dynamic shape (monogram-free).
• Double border of fine lines outlining the box’s edges, present on the lid and the front but with some losses.
• Brass gilt keyhole entry.

Condition and Details:
• The piece is presented in its original varnish with a beautiful patina.
• Strong point: Sold with its functional key.
• Interior in natural wood.
• Condition note: Good overall condition. Some light veneer lifts and small losses of the edges (normal wear for the period), not affecting the overall aesthetics. Defects shown in photos.
