Italian Baroque painter born in Rome, Angelo Caroselli was active in his hometown in the first half of the seventeenth century.
An experimental and restless self-taught artist, he managed to make contacts and meet people beyond the world of Roman painting, which nevertheless remained the focus of his activity.
Angelo Caroselli's eclectic style is strongly influenced by Caravaggio and the Bamboccianti.
Filippo Lauri's brother-in-law, his son Carlo Caroselli, and Pietro Paolini were among his pupils.
Works in Santa Francesca Romana and in the Palazzo del Quirinale.
