GOMMA coffee table by Anacleto Spazzapan, handmade in ferro with dimensions 63 x 63 cm and 20 cm high, originating from Italy and dating to 2010–2020, in good used condition with minor signs of age.
Description from the seller
The GOMMA coffee table, signed by Anacleto Spazzapan, is a design furniture piece made entirely by hand with a 9mm thick metal rod. It is suitable for all types of environments thanks to the use of epoxy powder coating that protects the iron from rust while the priming layer consists of a black zinc coating. The realization technique, the so-called styles, is the “stracciona” one where the iron rod is covered with fabric, hand-woven by the artisan.
ANACLETO SPAZZAPAN: Born in Luino in 1943, in recent years the designer/artist has revolutionized his life as craftsman, designer, and trader thanks to the discovery in Java, Indonesia, of an archaeological site he himself reported to local authorities. To provide work for two unemployed welders in the area, the designer began to engage in furniture objects, taking on a personal challenge: being able to produce prototypes for everyday use with a rather stubborn material: the iron rod.
Thus, true works of art come to life, which at first glance may seem light and delicate, but are in fact absolutely resistant, extremely functional, and decidedly up-to-date. At the base of every project lies a concrete and mathematical approach. His projects, in fact, rely on the same logic used in mathematics, keeping in mind the concept of logic and mathematical progression; the core remains always the function of an object itself, beautified and lightened by a more frivolous appearance. A creative process tied to the concrete and pragmatic dimension of design, to what a product is rather than what it represents.
