Salt and pepper shakers - Silver

Charming salt and pepper shakers featuring a soldier in solid silver and a peasant woman in vermeil, dating from the 19th century.

In reality it is a fake pair because the two objects, while forming a charming couple, do not bear the same hallmarks.

The woman is stamped:
. 800 for the silver fineness
. A barely legible hallmark
. SB (?) under a closed crown, perhaps a silversmith's mark.

The soldier is stamped:
. “n” in a shield
. 13, probably for the fineness of 13 loth for 812/°°
This latter mark indicates a probable Germanic or Polish origin.

The little woman is filling herself or lifting her headdress, the little soldier has feet that come apart.

Beautiful and charming “pair” of anthropomorphic salt and pepper shakers!

9.2 and 10 cm tall

160.6 grams for the pair.

Good condition. The vermeil on the woman is worn, traces of gilding in the recesses of the soldier. Some oxidations.
