About the artist:
*María José Fernández (Otura, Granada, 1985) is an Andalusian painter specialized in landscapes that convey calm and a connection with nature. She lives in La Quintería (Jaén), where she is inspired by southern light, the silence of the countryside and family life. Her first contact with oil was at 17, and since then she has developed a self-taught and deeply personal trajectory.
Her figurative work stands out for serene atmospheres, reflections on water and golden skies that invite contemplation. She also works on small abstract series where she explores sensations, colors and forms inspired by the earth and the sea. Each of her pieces is hand-painted, with the goal of harmonizing with spaces and awakening emotions in those who contemplate it.
She has participated in solo and group exhibitions, such as the Federico García Lorca Cultural Center (2017), Artes Jomasa (2019) and the Mundoarti Virtual Museum (2021).
