Description from the seller
Elegant and large Rolls-branded mantel clock, celebrated for the quality of its Westminster chime movements.
This model stands out for the particular "Super Ancre" configuration that guarantees precision and quiet operation (suitable for the bedroom). Equipped with a side lever "Silent" to deactivate the chimes (ideal for the night).
Pendulum-free version, does not require any leveling and the clock can be moved around without particular cares.
The dark, glossy mahogany wood case with a beautiful visible grain is in good condition with some imperfections (see photo) and is enhanced by decorations and brass alligators? feet? worked feet in brass (signs of discoloration consistent with age) according to classic taste.
The dial is in excellent condition, two-tone with stylized numerals and elaborately worked hands. The convex glass shows no scratches or chips.
The clock has been cleaned and oiled, keeps very good time and will not require maintenance for many years to come.
An ideal clock for those seeking a vintage item from a top brand but without the leveling and shifting issues typical of pendulum clocks.
Note: to set in motion, the hammers must be released and loaded with the included key.
