Description from the seller

Gerardo Sacco - Apotropaic Mask "Magna Grecia" - 800 Silver
In auction a magnificent Apotropaic Mask created by the famous Crotonese goldsmith Gerardo Sacco, internationally renowned for his creations that fuse myth, art and Mediterranean silversmithing tradition.
This mask represents one of the most iconic symbols of Sacco's production, inspired by the theatrical masks of Magna Graecia. In popular tradition, these figures were used as powerful amulets to ward off the evil eye and protect the home.
Main features:
Designer: Gerardo Sacco (logo present on the original swag/bag).
Subject: Apotropaic face with grotesque expression, curly hair and open mouth, finely repoussé.
Material: Silver (shiny/darkened finish to emphasize the volumes).
Dimensions: Height about 12-13 cm (as per photo with tape measure).
Mounting: Equipped with original hanging hook on the back to be wall-mounted.
Accessories: Includes its original blue velvet pouch with golden logo "Gerardo Sacco".
Condition:
The item is in excellent condition, with a splendid gleam. It has no dents or significant scratches. The natural patina of the silver enhances its details (it can be further polished at the purchaser's discretion).
A piece of Italian art and craftsmanship, perfect for collectors of signed silverware or as an exclusive talismanic decorative element.
