Description:
"Beautiful exemplar of the Michelin Regional Guide for Auvergne, 1937-1938 edition. This guide is particularly significant for collectors of the brand, as it covers the region where Michelin was founded and where its headquarters are located (Clermont-Ferrand).
Highlights:
• Condition: Very well-preserved copy, with the vibrant red cloth and hardly any wear, which is rare for a guide of almost 90 years. Note: marked in felt-tip on the spine are the years of the guide and on the top there is also a felt-tip mark with the edition year of the guide; photos are attached. But the guide is in very good condition.
• Regional Art: Features the charming illustration of Bibendum dressed as a regional musician on the cover, an iconic detail highly sought after by collectors of 'Michelin Memorabilia'.
• Content: Includes maps detailing the golden age of French tourism before the war.
• Rarity: As a 'house' guide, Michelin took special care with these editions. It is a fundamental piece to complete any regional series.
A solid, clean copy with exceptional iconography of the brand's mascot.
