Antique 19th‑century porcelain plaque with a portrait in a Sèvres style on a rich blue ground, mounted in a black lacquered wooden surround with a gilt brass cover, plaque diameter about 8 cm and mount 15 cm by 12 cm; origin France; materials porcelain, wood and brass; good condition with minor signs of aging.

The woman in this miniature shares characteristics with traditional 18th-century portrayals of Madame de Pompadour—specifically the powdered hair, delicate facial features, and elaborate period dress with lace or ruffles.
The porcelain plaque features a finely painted portrait set against a rich celestial blue ground with gilt detailing, in the classic French Sèvres manner.
Mounted within a black lacquered wooden surround with a gilded brass cover, suggesting it was originally part of a decorative object such as cabinet, or piece of furniture.

There is a hand written signature on on back ,unfortunately it is impossible to read and impossible to get it photographed.
