Description from the seller
I propose a work that brings together the Special Issues of the magazine Automobilia, a revue founded in April 1996 and which disappeared 15 years later, in April 2011. The “special issues,” numbering 44, were written entirely by the historian René Bellu, who possessed gigantic documentation, and treated exhaustively all the French brands present as well as those that could not afford to rent a stand at the Grand Palais, at the Paris Motor Show from 1919 (model year 1920) through the 1982 show (model year 1983).
The present volume, superbly bound in the Netherlands for a Dutch enthusiast of rare documentation, covers the model year 1920 to 1936 (the shows of 1919 to 1935). Only the 1934 show, the 1935 model year, which had previously been published by René Bellu, is not included.
Here are treated not only the brands present at the Show, but ALL French brands as well, including those that did not have a Stand.
Thus, for the model year 1920, no fewer than 65 French brands participated in the Show, and the 33 other existing ones are also treated, i.e., 98 French brands in all, including the smallest.
Over more than 600 pages, including more than 2000 period photos, illustrations, and advertisements from that era, this volume provides unique documentation on all the French automobile brands of that period.
A unique work for the historian as well as for the enthusiast of interwar automobiles.
