Danish Scandinavian brutalist pendant from the 1960s–70s, model 55, in a silver-colour pewter alloy with a rough sculptural texture, chain length 68 cm, pendant 5.9 x 4.0 x 1.3 cm, total weight about 80.7 g, in excellent pre-owned condition.
Description from the seller
Scandinavian Brutalist design hanging – abstract sculptural – 60s/70s – model 55 – Nordic studio style
A powerful and sculptural Scandinavian pendant from the Brutalist design period (ca. 1960–1975). This expressive piece is characterized by its rough, cast texture and architectural construction, where abstract shapes and relief come together to form almost a miniature sculpture. It is made of a silvery metal alloy with a rough, brutalist texture, likely executed in pewter (tin alloy), as commonly used in Scandinavian design from the 60s–70s.
The organic D-shape and the play of open and closed spaces give the piece a strong visual depth. The back bears the model number “55”, indicating a design from a small atelier or small-series production.
With its generous dimensions and solid construction, this is a pronounced statement piece that fits perfectly within a modernist or Scandinavian design context.
Dimensions: Chain length: 68 cm
Pendant:
* Height: 5.9 cm
* Width: 4.0 cm
* Depth: 1.3 cm
* Total weight: approx. 80.7 grams
