Description from the seller
Pioneer SX-5000 – Vintage analog stereo receiver from the late 70s
Classic Pioneer SX-5000 in good aesthetic and functional condition. It’s a iconic silver-face receiver from Pioneer’s golden era, with a clean design, large metallic knobs and a prominent analog dial that give it an elegant retro look.
Technical main features:
• Power: 20 watts per channel RMS at 8 Ω (real power, suitable for small rooms or efficient speakers)
• Power consumption: 62 Watts (according to original plate)
• Analog AM/FM tuner with mechanical dial and needle
• Inputs: Phono, Aux, Tape, Mic (front jack)
• Outputs: Speakers A and B (A/B/A+B), Headphones, Tape Out
• Controls: Bass, Treble, Balance, Volume and function selector
• Analog signal and tuning indicators + orange POWER and STEREO lights
Equipment details:
• Year: Late 70s (approx. 1976-1978)
• Country of origin: Made in Japan (Pioneer Electronic Corp.)
• Approximate dimensions: 48-50 cm wide × 14-15 cm high × 35-38 cm deep (large size typical of the era)
• Weight: 10 kg
• Multivoltage: 110/120/220/240 V – rear switch
Physical condition (see all photos in detail): The silver front has a very good shine with light signs of wear typical for its age (fine scratches and vintage patina). The large metal knobs are complete and original. The dial is clear and legible. The back shows some superficial patina typical of the passage of time, but all connectors, speaker terminals and the specification plate are intact. It works correctly: it powers on, the orange lights respond, the dial moves and the controls rotate without major issues.
Ideal for: Vintage audio collectors, retro setups, or as a centerpiece in a simple analog system. It sounds warm and musical, typical of Pioneer from that era.
Selling as-is, complete with power cable
Serial number: Visible on the back plate (photo included).
Shipping: Available with secure, reinforced packaging (the unit is large and heavy).
