Eclectic side table inspired by antique style, made of wood with bone inlay details, in dark brown, 72 cm high with a 43 cm diameter top, three parts (top, pedestal, base) that can be assembled with screw threads, dating to 1960–1970 and in good used condition with minor signs of age and staining.
Description from the seller
Very decorative eclectic side table / pedestal. The side table probably dates from the 1960s or 1970s, but could be older. You could call the table eclectic because of the twisted curves and inlay work that hark back to an almost baroque style.
The inlay on the sides of the top, on the stem and in the base is likely bone. The wood has a nutwood appearance. Whether it is walnut is not entirely clear.
The table is 72 cm high and the top has a diameter of 43 cm. The weight is about 4 kg. The table can be taken apart into 3 parts (top, stem and base). With threaded holes in the wood it can be assembled again easily and quickly.
The table still looks good, and all parts are original and present. It shows logical signs of use, especially on the top and the base. The top has a small crack due to temperature changes (see photos), and along the edges there are small spots of varnish and paint worn off here and there. The base also has small signs of use (see photos). One of the drawers has no stopper, so you can pull it out completely. The other has a stop under the top.
The table is not really intended for heavy statues, but it is stable and usable as a pedestal (see photos). It is also a suitable side table or plant stand. In a room it is an eye-catching piece of furniture that will attract a lot of attention.
