Jewellery box - Earthenware

This 19th-century Moustiers faience box features an elegant oval shape and a refined decoration typical of Provençal production. The lid is adorned with a lively rural scene depicting a couple in period costume in a bucolic landscape, surrounded by a frieze of flowers delicately hand-painted.

The soft colors, dominated by shades of blue, yellow, green, and ochre, as well as the finely executed decoration, bear witness to the craftsmanship of the faience makers of this famous manufactory. This box is fitted with a brass mount, with a hinge, allowing the lid to be opened.

Overall good condition, some cracks and a missing piece. The box closes perfectly.

Its dimensions are 11 cm wide, 7 cm high and 6 cm deep.
