Alpage - AL-300 Audio-cassette deck

I propose this rare and distinctive stereo cassette recorder/player AL-300, the flagship model from Alpage (Alpine). In this recorder the magnetic recording head and the playback head are independent, improving frequency response and reducing distortion, allowing a wide recording range and a narrow range for playback. The erase head is made from a highly magnetic Sendust chip mounted on a ferrite core. This head is very effective in erasing metal tapes. Additionally, with a simple switch, you can instantly compare the sound quality of the tape with that of the audio source.

The AL-300 is designed for use with different tape types; the tape selector determines the optimal bias and equalization levels for metal tapes, as well as for chromium, FeCr, and standard tapes. The drive mechanism ensures uniform tape tension and stable contact between tape and head. The controls are managed by integrated circuits, so operation is simple and intuitive, and electronic switching of the signal path guarantees maintaining maximum fidelity. Equipped with independent Dolby calibration for the right and left channels, and independent bias adjustment controls, the built-in test oscillator allows the user to determine the ideal bias and Dolby levels for optimal performance. The Alpage AL-300 can have its control panel removed to become a remote control with the aid of a rarely available five-meter cable (NOT INCLUDED). The model in question has a flaw on the front lower left, which can be seen circled in yellow in one of the photos. All the lights work, the counter should be serviced; it is functional, but DOES NOT RESET unless with the help of a small tip (even the tip of a ballpoint pen). The V-Meters are green and red in color and are not blue as seen in some photos. In my personal experience, I must say that the playback and recording are identical to devices far more renowned and famous. The audiocassette shown in the photos is NOT included in the lot.
