Description from the seller
Maserati 222 4V Biturbo 2790 cc V6 279 hp 1992 has undergone an engine/block revision in 2025 (complete with photo reportage and demonstrably view the latest photos of the engine when the work was done, and I have about 35 photos of this in my possession). Also the timing belt replaced, tensioner, water pump, clutch plate + clutch, 6 new spark plugs, oil and oil filter and air filter and coolant replaced and hardly driven since because I have too many cars and motorcycles and too little time. This is a very rare vehicle. Of this Maserati 222 4V between 1991 and 1994 in total only 130 units were built with the AM477 motor code.
This specific model with the 2.8-liter V6 engine (24 valves) was intended for the export market and is recognizable by the 16-inch alloy wheels. The type designation AM 477 refers to the specific engine code for this 4-valve variant 2800 cc V6 with 279 hp with a limited production of 130 units. (See link for more explanation https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maserati_Biturbo) The car has Belgian registration certificate (New sold in Belgium) with homologation certificate (COC) a maintenance book but it is not stamped and filled; there is a car-pass that indicates the correct kilometers. Last inspection (TÜV) with not a single remark. The car has had 3 owners: father (newly bought), son (2001) and me (2020 to now). The car shows normal use marks for its age.
Bodywork and paint:
There are no abnormal scratches or dents on the car.
The car has small paint touch-ups updated with a touch-up pen, nothing on the right wheel arch (see photo), above the windshield and on the driver's door (see photos) and a small crack in the front spoiler under the front license plate (1 cm see photo).
The rubbers are good as they should be.
There is no welding on the car and it has never been welded, neither above nor below, thus in normal used condition.
Technical state:
The brakes and suspension are good, the front tires 205/45/ZR16 and rear 225/45/ZR16 with about 85% tread left, power steering works, electric windows work both, Radio/CD radio works but the CD (perhaps) does not, electric seats work well, 2 electric mirrors work both, climate control works but the air conditioning should be charged; the system is fully installed, electric fuel flap works, electric trunk opener works but the trunk does not stay open (the small gas pistons defective; cost about €50 for two). The car stays nicely at its temperature 90°C when outside is 25°C; the cooling fans kick in on time as they should. The windshield has a small repair star smaller than a penny (see photo), left taillight (small crack see photo), front fog light bottom (small crack see photo); all instruments on the dashboard work well including the Maserati clock. The engine does not smoke from the exhaust and runs nicely.
Interior condition:
It has a beige/white leather/alcantara interior, seats and armrest and door panels leather slightly cracked but still good (see photos), dash and alcantara headliner in good condition but the headliner needs to be re-glued (see photo).
Documentation:
All official documents are present such as part 1 and part 2 of the Belgian registration certificate, the homologation certificate (Belgian coc) latest inspection certificate and car-pass. There is also an instruction booklet and a maintenance book but this has never been stamped and some maintenance and repair invoices.
I have described the vehicle as accurately and honestly as possible from my perspective but if there are questions or you want to come see it, this can be arranged by appointment in Belgium. The buyer bears the transport costs. We are also willing to assist you with worldwide transport or shipping.

Request help with registration from a third-party service provider.Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
