Danish mid-century sterling silver clip earrings, maker S.C.F., stamped 'STERLING DENMARK', ca. 1950–1960, rosette and leaf design, 5.8 g, in excellent vintage condition.
Description from the seller
Danish sterling silver clip-on earrings – rose & leaf – Makers mark S.C.F. – mid-century modern (c. 1950–1960)
A beautiful pair of mid-century Danish earrings, made in sterling silver and designed as refined rosebud buttons on an organic leaf. These pieces combine artisanal finesse with the characteristic vocabulary of Scandinavian modernism from the mid-20th century.
The earrings are marked on the back with “STERLING DENMARK” and feature the maker’s mark “S.C.F.,” attributed to a Danish silversmith active in the period ca. 1950–1960. The design seamlessly aligns with the beloved Danish tradition of translating natural forms—such as flowers and leaves—into expressive, wearable art objects.
The subtle oxidation (dark patina) enhances the depth and texture of the design and gives the earrings their characteristic, gently rugged look. Every detail—from the folded leaves to the closed rose form—testifies to meticulous hand finishing and artistic craftsmanship.
A special and timeless pair that can be worn as part of a modern outfit, and also sits perfectly within a collection of Scandinavian design silver.
