This antique wall console is richly decorated with woodcarving in the shape of a Putto (the cherubic child/angel) and floral foliage. What makes this piece special is the lower section, where a stylized head of a mythical creature or a dolphin (often used in Baroque work) is incorporated.

Hand-carved from solid wood and finished with gilding (gold leaf or gold paint over a gesso base).
The backside shows the rough, authentic wood grain, indicating considerable age.

Condition:
The piece has a beautifully patinated patina.
There is a clear vertical seam/crack visible on the back and side, which is completely normal for wood of this age due to the material’s movement. This confirms the authenticity of the natural material.

Deze antieke wandconsole is rijkelijk gedecoreerd met houtsnijwerk in de vorm van een Putto (het kindergezichtje/engeltje) en floraal bladwerk. Wat dit stuk bijzonder maakt, is het onderste gedeelte waarin een gestileerde kop van een fabeldier of een dolfijn (vaak gebruikt in de Barok) is verwerkt.

Met de hand gestoken uit massief hout en voorzien van een vergulding (bladgoud of goudverf over een gesso-ondergrond). 
De achterzijde toont de ruwe, authentieke houtstructuur, wat duidt op een aanzienlijke ouderdom.

Conditie: 
Het stuk heeft een prachtig doorleefd patina. 
Er is een duidelijke verticale krimpnaad zichtbaar aan de achterzijde en zijkant, wat volkomen normaal is voor hout van deze leeftijd door de werking van het materiaal. 
Dit bevestigt de authenticiteit van het natuurlijke materiaal.
