Large antique embroidered linen tablecloth – Mixed Richelieu, filet and needlepoint lace – Belle Époque / early 20th century – 200 x 200 cm

Exceptional square antique white linen tablecloth, entirely handmade using several traditional haute lacemaking techniques.

White linen, heavy and of fine quality
Richelieu embroidery with cut and buttoned openings
Needlepoint filet with heraldic medallions (lions/griffins)
Bobbin lace insertions
Figurative bands with characters and architectural motifs
Pom-pom fringe border on two sides

Central radiating diamond composition, adorned with large openwork heraldic medallions. The peripheral bands feature figurative scenes and floral motifs (scrolls, arabesques, flowers). The whole reflects an Italian Renaissance influence characteristic of Belle Époque textile production.

Very good overall condition for a piece of this age. White linen with no notable yellowing. Pom-poms intact.
