Description from the seller
Elegant inlaid side table in the Louis XV style – Lombardy, Italy (ca. 1960–1970)
For sale is a stylish, high-quality side table from Lombardy (Italy), executed in the classic Louis XV or Rococo style. This decorative piece of furniture impresses with its curved form, finely worked inlays and the warm glow of noble woods.
The octagonally curved tabletop is adorned with artistic floral marquetry and shows a harmonious interplay of different wood types, presumably walnut and burl wood. The central floral motif is framed by elegant tendrils and gives the table a particularly noble appearance.
The tabletop is supported by a turned central foot that ends in three curved, decoratively carved legs – typical for the Louis XV style. The craftsmanship is solid and testifies to Italian craftsmanship of the mid-20th century.
