This rug is distinguished by its very fine knotting, typical of genuine Kashmir silk rugs. The elaborately designed patchwork or medallion field with numerous floral and ornamental motifs recalls classical Persian models and testifies to the highest knotting craftsmanship. Due to the silk pile, the surface appears particularly elegant with a noble sheen depending on the incidence of light.
