AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Travel clock called “Officer” – Napoléon III era

Delightful travel clock in a “corniche” shape in gilt brass, French work from the late 19th century. The cage is made of five beveled panes revealing the mechanical cylinder escapement movement.
• Dial: White enamel with Roman numerals for the hours and a railroad minute track.
• Complication: Auxiliary dial at 6 o’clock for the alarm function.
• Movement: Mechanical with the Advance/Retard adjustment (marked R/A). Functional movement; the alarm is operational but the mechanism should be reviewed with an internal cleaning.
• Dimensions: Classic model with a mobile brass carrying handle.
Prestige accessories:
Piece presented with its original accessories, a rarity on the market:
• Travel case: Original brown embossed leather box, felt-lined interior, equipped with its carrying strap. But the box is worn with time.
• Winding key: Double brass key supplied.
State of conservation:
Good presentation condition “in its patina” with a beautiful patina of time on the brass. Note a discreet chip on the upper corner of the rear glass. Box worn but original.
The engraving 336 would indicate a relatively low lot number and could be the start of the series of this range…
