Description from the seller
Soho Model B – Art Deco bakelite folding camera – 6x9 medium format – London c. 1935
Description
Offered: a stylish and characterful Soho Model B folding camera, produced in London around 1935.
This camera is a beautiful example from the Art Deco era, finished in dark brown bakelite with chrome accents and a classic bellows construction. The design is typical of the transitional period in which manufacturers were experimenting with modern materials and compact constructions.
The Soho Model B is a so-called strut folding camera, where the front folds forward on metal arms. This makes the camera compact when closed and surprisingly solid in use.
The camera takes roll film and produces negatives in 6x9 cm format, which at the time was regarded as a serious photographic format with a lot of detail.
