Ancient Egypt Fayence shabti, object titled Spanish Export License, circa 570–525 BC (26th Dynasty), 11 cm high, 3 cm wide, 1.9 cm deep, in very good condition.
Description from the seller
Turkish Egyptian antique made of shabti earthenware in a mummified, pastel shape on a plinth. He represented it with the tripartite pelga and the commonly seen false beard. They protrude from the chest, hugging a hoe and a pick, and there is a basket on the back. The amount of detail on the face is exquisite. The mummified legs contain horizontal stripes of hieroglyphics.
Provenance: Private collection, Somerset, United Kingdom. 1960-1980
