Description from the seller
UNIQUE EDITION 1/1 — ONLY ONE COPY EXIST IN THE WORLD.
Medsan continues his impactful exploration of deconstructed Pop Art with this new square-format work. Following in the vein of the 'defragmented' aesthetics popularized by contemporary urban artists like Matt Gondek, this print offers a brutal and stylized vision of the iconic ninja figure (shinobi). The artist combines the precision of Japanese printmaking with the visceral energy of urban art.
The composition freezes action in mid-flight: a assassin dressed in the traditional dark outfit, face masked, appears struck by an invisible force. His body shatters with a crash, tearing the fabric to reveal a complex anatomy made of ribs, spine, and exposed muscular fibers. The impact is materialized by bursts of bone, shreds of cloth, and thick plumes of black and gray smoke escaping from the wound. The blood-red, flat and vibrant background reinforces the graphic violence of the scene and highlights the precision of the black line work, recalling both ukiyo-e and the inking of comic books. The traditional vertical cartouche houses the signature "Medsan" in katakana (メドサン).
A nerve-wracking, dynamic work with strong visual impact, ideal for contemporary art collectors seeking a subversive, anatomically exploded reinterpretation of classic Japanese figures.

About the Studio:
Atelier Joconde is a collective of artists united around a living, plural contemporary creation. Established as a true production space, the studio operates both as collaborative creation and as individual approaches, depending on projects and works. Atelier Joconde is also a family venture. Le Yack, a contemporary figurative painter, develops a narrative and introspective body of work with cinematic and realistic influences. At his side, Medsan, oriented towards pop art painting, explores color, modern iconography, and visual culture. Finally, Neo Pablo pursues a more instinctive search, blending abstract art, outsider art, and figurative abstraction. Each work is conceived, created, and followed within the studio, with a shared artistic standard and a unique identity for each artist.
