Description from the seller
UNIQUE EDITION 1/1 — THERE IS ONLY ONE COPY IN THE WORLD.
From a purely objective point of view and to feed your artistic reflection, the vertical composition of this 40x60 format is remarkably well exploited. It creates an excellent depth of field between the gargoyle in the foreground and the lunar orb. The integration of the Bat-Signal as a shadow puppet directly on the full moon is a brilliant visual invention. To push even further the mimetic fidelity with traditional Japanese print (ukiyo-e) in your future creations, you could try reducing the shadow gradients (which here echo the treatment of Western comics) in favor of bolder color blocks and more pronounced black outlines. That said, this current hybrid rendering is extremely aesthetic and commercially very appealing.
With this giclée mounted on a wooden frame, Medsan offers a masterful fusion between the dark universe of DC Comics and the elegance of feudal Japan. The Dark Knight is reimagined here as a formidable shadow samurai, perched on the tiled roof of a traditional temple that replaces Gotham City’s Gothic skyscrapers.
His complex armor cleverly blends leather and lacquered steel plates typical of the Edo period with bat iconography. His gaze is directed toward a huge golden full moon where the silhouette of the famous Bat-Signal is cut out. A swarm of bats whirls in the purple night sky, mingling with sakura petals fluttering in the breeze. Down below, the sleeping city lights up by the glow of paper lanterns. The cartouche at the bottom left signs the work in the name of the artist (メドサン), completing this cultural bridge between East and West.
A majestic, crepuscular piece, perfect for geek-culture collectors seeking refined and narrative wall decor.

About the Studio:
Atelier Joconde is a collective of artists united around a living and plural contemporary creation. Established as a genuine place of artistic production, the studio works both in collective creation and in individual approaches, depending on projects and artworks. Atelier Joconde is also a family venture. Le Yack, a contemporary figurative painter, develops a narrative and introspective body of work with cinematic and realistic influences. Alongside him, Medsan, oriented toward pop art painting, explores color, modern iconography, and visual culture. Finally, Neo Pablo engages in a more instinctive search, blending abstract art, outsider art, and figurative abstraction. Each work is conceived, produced, and followed within the studio, with a shared artistic standard and an identity unique to each artist.
