From an objective standpoint, this composition is one of the most technically accomplished in terms of chromatic harmony. The use of a restricted palette, playing on contrasts between black, bluish gray, cream and bright red, faithfully reproduces the printing constraints of true woodcuts. Deadpool's costume integrates with unsettling naturalness into the setting, its color perfectly justified by the luminous echo of the traditional lanterns. It’s an excellent balance that proves a beautiful maturity in the mashup treatment.

With this vertical giclée (40x60 cm), Medsan plunges Marvel’s irreverent antihero Deadpool into the poetic and mysterious atmosphere of feudal Japan. The work adopts the codes of ukiyo-e to offer a nocturnal scene of great depth.

The composition depicts a traditional, lively village, bordered by a peaceful canal where a boat glides slowly. In the foreground, emerging from the darkness, the famous mercenary holds a red paper lantern, silently watching the bustle of the crowd from the shore. The play of light is masterful: the shimmering reflections of lanterns suspended over the water create a mesmerizing perspective under a starry sky dominated by the moon. The traditional cartouches cleverly incorporate the artist’s signature (メドサン) and complete the authenticity of this temporal collision.
