Tired of running away from pollution? And what if the plastic that’s infesting our oceans finally takes center stage? It’s by making this bet that we chose to install recycled plastic at the center of the mirror. Thus, Man is no longer at the center of attention and is forced to step aside to see his reflection.

As noted, the mirror is pierced in its center. On the front face, a circle of 150 mm in diameter, made from recycled plastic, runs through the mirror to better support it. This circle is sculpted in a wave shape to evoke the origin of this material. At the back, another plate of recycled plastic is fixed and allows attachment to the wall without damaging the mirror. This mounting is finally ensured by two Z-shaped brackets, easing installation.

The design studio "pirouette." conceptualized, imagined and drafted this object, then oversaw the assembly and sculpture of the plastic. The recycled plastic was shaped by "La Plastiquerie", from plastic recovered from the ocean. The cutting of the plastic and that of the mirror were carried out by two companies in southern France. The "Galerie des Curiosités" is at the origin of this collaboration.

This mirror was made using digital cutting, a plastic recycling process and hand assembly and sculpture. It is signed by the designer, with a stamped aluminum plate glued to the back of the mirror. It is a unique piece, in excellent condition and will be delivered with a certificate of authenticity.
