An Uzbek proverb says: "A home begins where a rug is laid." In Uzbekistan, the rug is a symbol of a family's wealth and prosperity, and, as a result, it always forms part of the gifts given to young people at their weddings. This rug belongs to a rare type of tribal rug with a brown field featuring two rows of octagons that immediately recall the characteristic gul of Turkmen rugs. At the same time, the two-headed animals represent purely tribal elements.
