An authentic Ancient Egyptian scarab carved in blue faience, dating from the New Kingdom (ca. 1550–1070 BCE). This type of amulet is iconic within Egyptian culture and was worn as a symbol of rebirth, protection, and the eternal cycle of life.
The scarab is finely worked and features carved hieroglyphs on the reverse side, typical for such objects from this period. The intense blue color, achieved through faience technique, refers to fertility and regeneration – core concepts within Egyptian symbolism.
This specimen is part of the renowned Mustaki collection, assembled in the early 20th century and later brought to the United Kingdom under official license (1947). Objects from this collection are today housed in leading museums worldwide.
The piece was cataloged by Carol Andrews (former curator of the Egyptian Department, British Museum), underscoring its historical and academic value.
