AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

SODA POP is a 70 x 100 cm painting by Flavia Delgado that turns a everyday object into a vibrant, graphic, and absolutely iconic image.

A simple glass of soda with ice and a straw here transforms into a symbol of energy, youth, and popular culture. The rising bubbles, the explosive background, and the strong color contrast make the scene seem to emit sound, movement, and freshness.

The work directly dialogue with the American advertising imaginary of the 1950s and 1960s, where common products became visual emblems of desire and optimism. However, this is not a nostalgic reproduction: it is a contemporary reinterpretation in a pop key, clean and forceful.

The word “SODA POP” functions as a visual onomatopoeia that can almost be heard: the fizz of the gas, the ice clinking against the glass, the refreshing moment held on the canvas.

With a palette dominated by red, blue, black, and white, Flavia Delgado achieves a piece that is direct, cheerful, and high-impact, capable of immediately evoking a sense of summer, pause, and instant pleasure.

SODA POP celebrates precisely that: the graphic beauty of simple small pleasures.

Seller's Story

I present a pictorial work line strongly linked to illustration and artistic poster design. My works combine the language of classic poster art with the plastic freedom of contemporary painting: flat colors, defined contours, direct scenes, and a clear narrative sense. My work dialogues with the tradition of 20th-century poster art, especially with the universe of Art Deco and European and North American advertising posters, where authors like A. M.. Cassandre, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and Leonetto Cappiello used synthetic imagery and color for visual impact. There are also affinities with European comic graphics and the clear line, from Hergé to modern editorial illustration. In my paintings, I depict interiors, architectures, figures, and travel scenes—such as roads, vintage cars, or landscapes—approached from a graphic perspective reminiscent of posters and illustrated books, but transferred to the realm of painting on paper and canvas. I aim for each image to function like a frame or a narrative poster, capable of suggesting a broader story without needing to explain it.
