This 17th-century Chinese snuff box is a beautiful example of Beijing glass, with a vibrant red layer on a matte-glass body.

The decorative motifs are in relief and depict luck-bringing symbols such as birds and lotus flowers, popular themes in Qing dynasty decorative art.

The bottle is sealed with a characteristic red stopper made of coral, and has an engraved seal mark on the side.
