Louis XVI-style mantel clock in alabaster and gilded bronze, by a clockmaker from Pamiers in France, mechanical movement with striking, 19th century.
Magnificent Louis XVI-style mantel clock, made in alabaster and adorned with finely chiselled gilded bronzes.
This elegant French clock stands out for its refined decoration, including a covered urn in the upper part, vegetal scrolls, and blue Jasperware-style medallions in the taste of Wedgwood. The balance wheel is adorned with a radiating mascaron.
The Roman numeral dial bears the signature of a clockmaker from Pamiers (Ariège, France), attesting to regional French production of quality dating from the late 19th century.
It is equipped with a key-wound mechanical movement (hour and bell strike). The mechanism is complete and visible at the back.
In working order, including the winding key, good overall condition with wear and scratches appropriate to age; see the photos, which are part of the description.
