Polish large military case made from solid pine wood with metal fittings, in excellent condition with minimal signs of age, originating from Poland and dating to the 1950s.
Description from the seller
Polish Military Wooden Field Case — 1950s — Solid Wood & Metal — Industrial — "W-5" Markings
A robust and characterful military field case manufactured in Poland in the 1950s, originally used by Polish armed forces to store and transport medical equipment. The piece bears original white stencilled markings "W-5" on multiple sides, along with a partially legible unit or inventory code on the front panel — all of which add to its authentic provenance and collectible appeal.
Construction:
Built from solid pine wood with heavy-gauge metal corner reinforcements, riveted metal trim, two side carry handles, and a front latch/lock mechanism. The lid is hinged and opens fully, supported by metal stay rods on both sides. The interior is unfinished natural pine — clean, spacious, and structurally sound.
Exterior:
Painted in original olive/field grey military paint, showing natural wear, surface scratches and patina consistent with decades of active service. No restoration — fully original.
Versatility:
An extremely popular piece for industrial and loft-style interiors. Can be used as a storage trunk, coffee table base, side table, blanket box, bar prop, or display piece. Equally at home in a living room, office, restaurant, or retail space.
Condition:
Good. Original paint shows wear, minor scratches and surface marks in keeping with age and military use. Interior pine is clean and solid.
