Description from the seller
Designed in the late 1970s by engineers P.F.Warning and J.F.Fischer, the Sennheiser MD 421 is a cardioid dynamic microphone considered a standard in concerts and recording studios. In 2010 the MD 421 was inducted into the TEC Awards Hall of Fame.
It has a large-diaphragm capsule and a frequency response of 30-17,000 Hz ±3dB, which exceeds the “HiFi-DIN45500” standard, and is equipped with a compensating coil that cancels low-frequency interference. The MD 421U, thanks to its almost linear response on the low frequencies up to 1 kHz, is the first choice for drum toms and percussion, and also excels for amplifiers (guitar and bass), winds, brass, and radio voice.
Not to be confused with the cheaper “MD421 II” version, the version presented here (U4) is the second series produced in the late 1970s, and is characterized by the black color with a silver balanced XLR connector and a five-position high-pass inductive filter.
What’s notable here is the rare and valuable serial sequence for three units of the original lot, which consists of:
- 4 microphones “MD421-U4” (series: 24850, 24851, 24852, 27107)
- 4 microphone stands “MZA” (one repaired, one not original)
- 3 plastic boxes (foam replaced)
- 3 cardboard covers (repaired)
- (documents) 3 individual calibrations, 2 user manuals, 3 warranties
The items have always been used in a professional recording studio. The visible (photos) cosmetic conditions due to use and time do not compromise the sound quality of these microphones, which are normally functional and checked before shipment.
Shipping will be carried out with an international courier or Poste Italiane with tracking, at a cost of €30.00 for EU countries and €55.00 for other continental countries.
