Elegant and uncommon original Leitz accessory, model “Vehig”, manufactured by Ernst Leitz Wetzlar for classic Leica rangefinder cameras.
This auxiliary magnification accessory (“Hilfsgehäuse Vehig”, as marked on the original box) was designed to complement the Leica viewfinder/rangefinder system in the early decades of the Leica system, and today it is a highly valued piece among collectors and lovers of classical photography.
The specimen is presented in very good cosmetic condition, preserving sharp engravings “E. Leitz Wetzlar Germany”, original finish and an attractive vintage patina in keeping with its age. It also includes its original Leitz cylindrical box, a detail increasingly difficult to find and highly valued in Leica collecting.
