Description from the seller
Title: The Dancers
School: Spanish, 20th century
Style: Contemporary figurative
Technique: Oil on canvas
Figurative work with an intimate composition that represents two female figures in an interior of soft tones and a serene atmosphere. In the foreground, a dancer sits with her back turned, her torso bare and a white cloth wrapping the lower part of the body. In front of her, another female figure sits and is dressed in a white tunic, in a relaxed pose, generating a scene of visual dialogue and compositional balance.
The color palette is based on grays, whites, soft blues and flesh tones, with a loose, vaporous brushwork that lends delicacy to the forms. The work conveys a sense of calm, contemplation and study of the human body, with special attention to light, posture and the spatial relationship between the two figures.
Oliver Ribella is an author of the 20th century linked to a figurative painting, focused on human representation and compositions of classical sensitivity reinterpreted from a contemporary execution.
