Caio Mario Garrubba was a freelance photojournalist active during the 1950s. He has made many trips all over the world and his colleagues consider him one of the most important Italian photojournalists. When Garrubba photographs and portrays ordinary people he makes a portrait of the time. Garrubba has been a source of inspiration for photojournalism and an important exhibitor of international contemporary photography.
Goffredo Parise (1929-1986) was an Italian writer, journalist, and screenwriter. He won the Viareggio Prize in 1965 for his novel Il padrone (The Boss) and the Strega Prize in 1982 for Sillabario.

About Caio Mario Garrubba:
Caio Mario Garrubba is an inspiration for photojournalism and street photography. Garrubba’s photos don’t have a pose but everyday life is represented. In 2019, Garrubba’s Lontano exhibition organized by the Istituto Luce/Cinecittà included 100 shots. The Lontano exhibition was a rediscovery of an author still little known in Italy. The exhibition ends with a documentary produced by Luce-Cinecittà where there is an interview with Garrubba’s wife and collaborator. She tells not only the photographer side of her husband but also his human side.
About Goffredo Parise:
After graduating from high school, Goffredo Parise moved to Venice with his family. In 1951, his first novel, Il ragazzo morto e le comete (The Dead Boy and the Comets), was published. In Milan, where he moved shortly afterward, he worked as a journalist, primarily for Corriere della Sera. During the 1960s, he worked as a set designer, including on film projects by directors Bolognini and Fellini. The first part of what is probably his best-known book, Alphabet of Feelings, was published in 1972, with the second part following in 1982. For his reporting assignments, he traveled throughout Asia, America, and Africa. He spent his final years in Ponte di Piave, in the Province of Treviso (Veneto).
