Longwy - Basket - Earthenware, Ceramic

Decorative piece representing a basket in Longwy enamels, with a polychrome design inspired by Art Nouveau.

The surface is entirely animated by a rich floral and vegetal motif treated in cloisonné enamels: sinuous stems, stylized foliage and vibrant flowers unfold with fluidity on a deep blue background characteristic of Longwy. The whole forms a lively and harmonious decorative scene, typical of the naturalist aesthetics of Art Nouveau. The fineness of the enamel work, coupled with the vivid colors and the subtle network of crazing, testifies to the renowned craftsmanship of the Longwy ateliers.

Very good overall condition, with enamel well preserved and colors luminous. Signs of wear due to the age of the object.
