I auction off a truly unique desk lamp, a personal and handmade creation by my grandfather. Passionate about restoring old objects, he meticulously transformed a genuine vintage workshop voltmeter into a one-of-a-kind lampshade, designing the entire lighting system himself.

The Highlight: A Dual Lighting
The genius of this creation lies in its dual lighting system:
1. Exterior Lighting: A modern black matte metal spotlight, mounted on a chrome flexible arm, provides direct and swiveling light, perfect for work or reading.
2. Interior Instrument Lighting:
My grandfather ingeniously installed lighting inside the voltmeter’s own enclosure. When switched on, the dial glows from within, revealing the complexity and beauty of its old mechanism. The original vintage switch has been preserved to control both lights.

The base is an authentic mid-20th-century French measuring instrument, bearing the marks of its history.

• Technical Details: The dial protected by a pane reads "VOLTMÈTRE Courant Alternatif" (0-250V) with the star logo of VOLTA and the prestigious signature of Meylan d'Arsonval.
• Patina: The heavy metal case retains its original patina, evidence of its past use, giving it a unique character.
