This is an authentic 18th-century left- and right-handed pair of mensules often used as wall relief.
A pair of decorative hand-carved wall appliqués made of gilded wood (giltwood) from the late 18th century to the early 19th century.
They are executed in a classical style, such as Baroque or Rococo, and are characterized by their scrolls and acanthus leaves.
One wall appliqué has been restored; this is visible in the photo showing the back.
Dimensions: 39 cm high by 11 cm wide and 6 cm thick.
Total weight: 790 grams.
Condition in line with age and use; please examine all photos carefully.
