An exceptional and rare lot of five hand-painted ceramic ashtrays in the shape of an open convertible, each personalized as an advertising item for a Dutch car dealer. This type of ashtray was given by dealers to customers in the 1950s as a promotional item, a practice that today provides a rich source for collectors of automobilia and Dutch advertising history.

Each piece is unique in color and finish, with recognizable fifties-era details such as the decorative grille, the round headlights, and the open coachwork style. On the sides and the dashboard are the names and details of the respective dealers. One of the ashtrays clearly bears the name "Lokhorst Auto's N.V. Naarden". The remaining pieces bear names of other, no longer identifiable Dutch dealer companies.

The ashtrays are in good used condition with minor signs of wear appropriate to their age.
