The House of Aguilar or House of Priego is one of the most important noble houses in Spain since ancient times, originated in the Crown of Castile in the era of Ferdinand III the Saint (c. 1199-1250). Later united to the Ducal House of Medinaceli, the work gathers the certification of nobility of the noble house from ancient times and speaks of the genealogy and ancestry of that house, being a fundamental document to understand nobility in Spain.
One of the documents included is the “Executoria.” These are documents certifying the Christian ancestry of hidalgos (noblemen), although in this case it applies to a very superior noble house, hence its rarity. They are also understood as purities of blood or probanzas.
