Description from the seller
PALESTINE. 5 MILS. 1935.
- Value: 5 Mils.
- Year: 1935.
- Inscriptions: Obverse: PALESTINE · פלשתינה (א״י) · فلسطين around a vegetal crown; date 1935 and ١٩٣٥ at the bottom. Reverse: 5 MILS · חמישה מיל · خمسة مِلّ arranged circularly around the central hole; peripheral pearling.
- Grade: MS63 (PCGS).
Coin of 5 Mils in a base alloy with a central hole, a distinctive feature of the British Mandate emissions in Palestine. The obverse shows a crown of finely detailed branches surrounded by the denominations of the territory in English, Hebrew and Arabic, reflecting the multilingual administration of the period. The reverse shows the value equally in the three languages, with clear and balanced typography. It retains original luster visible in fields and reliefs, with light contact marks typical of the MS63 grade, maintaining a fresh and homogeneous overall appearance. Representative specimen of monetary circulation in the 1930s, in a historical context marked by growing political tensions in the region under British administration.
Disclaimer: For orders shipped outside the European Union, I want to leave absolutely clear that I do ship from Spain, which means that if the package is sent to any country outside the European Union, and/or inside EU that has special tax agreement (example: Canary Islands), it might be stopped in your local customs and they might ask you to pay taxes. This is a customs legal procedure and it is completely out of our control. Thanks for your understanding.
